Kitchen tap plumbing failure

So I decided to be adventurous and buy a replacement kitchen mixer tap. I was expecting it to come with the typical flexi-hose connectors which would screw directly into the existing fittings. What I got was two very skinny solid copper pipes (about 9mm diameter) protruding from the tap and now I'm not sure how to proceed. Anyone know if I can connect this up to standard width copper pipes (existing ones are about 20mm)?

Stick up a picture of where the existing taps connect to the pipes.

Should be just a matter of isolating the taps (are there isolation valves?)
Then getting the correct compression fittings/push fittings to connect the pipes from the taps to you supply pipes.

You may need to extend or cut back the existing supply pipes depending on your current setup.

Thanks for the suggestion, attached is what the current setup looks like. There are a couple more L bends before the isolation valves which are just out of view in this pic. If I bring the new tap to a DIY store do you think they will be able to tell me which compression fitting to get?

Bring your new mixer tap to a plumbing suppliers and ask them for flexi pipes to suit. They will also have a box spanner for the nut if you don't already have one
