Virgin Media 3.0 (not given to me by Virgin)

    Hi all,

I've recently obtained a VM 3.0 to replace my old Cisco router. The router belonged to a friend who is no longer with VM and the router somehow managed to slip from under their radar as he hasn't received any notice to return his equipment.

I've connected the device and everything seems in order in terms of it syncing up but the internet connection won't carry over wirelessly or wired.

When looking at the log, I see a TLV-11 - unrecognized error. This is repeating over in the log and I get the impression that perhaps the router itself is paired to my friends connection and will not work with mine?

I could be completely off so any help with the matter would be greatly appreciated.

Those Virgin boxes are property of Virgin and provisioned on the network to correlate to your account. To my knowledge they will not work on the network without explicit permission and being enabled by their provisioning system.

I don't work for them so I'm not 100% sure on this. I would ring them up and explain your situation and try to get it provisioned to your account.

    A. Its stolen equipment
    B. You'd have to call Virgin and have its MAC registered, which they wont do as its stolen
