Penalty Points for speeding - Father and son with the same name, both named drivers o

Recieved a speeding notice today in the post addressed to a name that is applicable to 2 residents at the same property.

The penalty notice never specified which driver the points and fine is directed towards. Both drivers drove the vehicle on the nearby stretch of road, in-or-around the time the vehicle was flagged for speeding, and are unsure themselves as to whom is liable.

Do the Gardai not have to specify who is responsible, before expecting a fine to be paid and points to be added?
