Staining Wooden Floors

    Hi all,

I want to stain the floor of my sitting room to match (as closely as possible) the walnut installed in the hallway. It was varnished previously so I'm hiring the large pad sander and stripping it back. When looking around the builders providers for stain in the past all I could seem to find was Ronseal 5 Year exterior stain. I have a can of walnut and have applied 2 coats to a piece of floor I removed elsewhere in the house to see if I'm happy with the colour. Then I was planning to give it a few coats of Ronseal Diamond Coat clear varnish. Is it ok to use that stain or should I look elsewhere? It says nothing about interior use.
    Thanks,
    Dave
