I've just started studying multimedia and was wondering if any current or past students could help. I'm looking for a laptop that will for my coursework. From the stuff I've read many of them seem to all be recommending I get a macbook. Is it worth the investment or would it be much more sensible to get a windows laptop…

I've just started studying multimedia and was wondering if any current or past students could help. I'm looking for a laptop that will for my coursework. From the stuff I've read many of them seem to all be recommending I get a macbook. Is it worth the investment or would it be much more sensible to get a windows laptop such as the Dell XPS 15 which at full spec is only half the price of a Macbook Pro. I've seen a few people mention that we'll be using Final Cut alot in the Digital Video module which is OSX only.

Basically should I just go for the the cheaper and more powerful windows laptop or would it be worth it to invest in a Macbook Pro.
