    Lenovo Miix 510

    http://www3.lenovo.com/ie/en/laptops/ideapad/miix-series/Miix-510/p/88EMMX50735?

Can get this for around 650 thanks to a boards member posting couple coupons... Is it good for college use

Lenovo used to be a well built and rugged machine, but the one I bought last year is a piece of junk. The left and right buttons are particularly pernickety and the keyboard doesnt give the feel of something well built like the old Lenovos used to... In terms of handling software, it works fine, but the interface is poor.

What system did you get? Lenovo make a lot of cheaper end machines that can suffer with poor materials. Their higher end machines are still quite good.

They were on sale in argos a few months ago. And I got one which I've since sold on.

It's a fantastic laptop and the only reason I sold it was I got an even better bargain for one suited more for my heavier duty software development needs.

The active pen is really good with it and it might be very beneficial once you get used to taking notes on a tablet. I found the handwriting recognition quite good but I just didn't need to use it.

Not a great processor, and storage is very small. You should aim for a 256 ssd minimum.

When you say college use age you must talking about taking notes or are you doing something that requires a lot of computing power?
