hi, I have a Stanley stove & smoke is escaping when I light it, out of the pipe that goes into the old fireplace at the back of the stove where it was blocked up.

The fire cement around the pipe is cracked. It was repaired last winter but cracked again and someone told me it's not the best. It only smokes when lit, after that it's fine. Any idea what's the best way to repair.

(I do have a carbon monoxide alarm in the room that isn't beeping)

Is the flue connected to the chimney or is the stove just sitting in the fire ope and flue going nowhere
    Pictures would help
Without them no one would be able to answer definitely
