Looking for a set of Mud Flaps.

Apparently the SE flaps wont fit the S-line :)

Anyone know a solution aftermarket link?

Sick of tar getting on the lower trim.

    All input welcome.

Mud flaps look cat on anything modern. Don't do it.

Moulded flaps usually look fine on modern cars. Traditional flat rubber flaps look crap in modern stuff.

Your right that Audi don't do flaps to suit the S-line kits if it's anything like VW, they don't do flaps for the R-line kits. I've seen people have good success fitting standard moulded flaps to the R-line kits though, they are only slightly different and only need around 60 seconds, a Stanley knife and a steady hand to be made fit.

In the interest of my paintwork I'm just gonna suck it up...

From a bit of web researching I have found out the following. I hope it might help others.

It looks like the standard SE flaps will fit no trouble the issue is with the rear bumper. Apparently the A3 S line rear flaps are the the ones to use, not as much alterations I'll look into more of it.

    Thanks for the feedback.

I've just bought a 2013 A4 s line, also looking for flap solutions! I never heard about A3 ones fitting a4s. Report back how you got on please!!

I've bought a genuine front set from Audi, cost €50 very tidy set.
Just need to find a set of rears now.

You will find good thread on Audi-Sport.net about the flaps. Im going to order during the week.
The only thing now what worries me is the road clearance on the fronts on the S line.

The genuine Audi flaps are very riged as expected.
I was hoping to find a soft type rubber flaps so it would offer a little give if caught no luck tho.

All I can say is I've not had any issues with running yet despite driving over bumpy Donegal roads with passengers on, no rubbing at all yet.

Where are you ordering your flaps from?

Getting them from Audi. Part number for the rear A3 flaps are ZGB8V2075101. I do hope they are the solution, hope to have them next week.

    What spec did you get?

    My one is,
    2L tdi 150Bhp
    Red colour, S-line , Quattro. 27,000 miles.
Very happy with it, not sure about the electronic handbrake and stop start tech...

I got a 2013 black edition 150bhp finished in black, sat nav model with 59000 miles but not a Quattro, it has rs6 alloys instead of the ttrs, very happy with the car but I would definitely prefer the old fashioned hand brake instead of the electric. Must say I love the remote pop up boot and quality of the interior. Thinking about tinting the rear windows and maybe fitting eibach springs.
Be sure to upload pics of the rear flaps when fittedðŸ‘

Sounds sweet, nice spec id take its a UK import ?

I have the road map edition. I am also very impressed with the interior. The 150bhp has a nice delivery of power also, cant say what the 177bhp is like.

Now tho, should i say boot lip? Spotted a stunning white sline with what looked like a black carbon fibre one. Tidy one nice job. Its in the back of my head now.

    Will do with the pics.

Well, I have the fronts on happy with those no issue as you have done also.

So the rear, went to Audi with the part number above never seen that No before (great). So just taken it from the A3 model year so on and got that set... Long story short not too happy, they look raw and will need a bit of cutting to suit I have no intention of cutting anything from the car only the flap. They are about 80% match.

So i have ordered a set from the UK with that part No listed above expecting soon. I will see what set works best and return the other...
I'd like to try the intended set for the a4 and see how close are they.

Bit of a fecking dose really for a set of flaps. I'll post the pics when or if done.

I cannot believe that Audi haven’t just made a set for the b8.5 model when they made sets for the pre facelift model. Boggles the mind. Any pics with the a3 flaps on the car?

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 1,054 ✭✭✭Tuco88

No i just offered them up. Dont want to do any mods yet i may return them.

Well you can get the non sline set.

Its funny they will tell you its a sports kit. It does not need flaps yet the new B9 A4 sline can be got.

Don’t do it ffs. I thought mudflaps went out in the 1980’s along with travellin to Flavin stickers and padre pio statues. They are naff beyond words. Cutting mudflaps to fit onto your new ish Audi... Madness.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 8,532 ✭✭✭JohnBoy26

Genuine mudflaps look fine and they are one the first things id fit if buying a new car. The sills and lower part of the doors and rear bumper will be destroyed with stone chips and tar otherwise. They will also keep the sides of the car cleaner.

If you bought a new (or a second hand ) car that came with genuine mud flaps would you remove them then?...

Audi do sell mudflaps for the B8.5 sline as I am unfortunate enough to own one, they are mad money and look ridic.

They can’t be genuine, multiple audi dealers say there’s none available. Why whats wrong with your one?.

    Yes.

Not only do they look naff, they’re completely effing pointless. Dirt, stones, dampness and sh1te will accumulate in and around them. They’ll prevent only the heaviest of dirt (cow dung maybe!) from hitting the sills. Otherwise they’re about as useful as an ashtray on a motorbike.

Keep the sides of the car cleaner? You must be joking. A little rubber flap is really not going to keep much dirt off the car when you’re bombing down the motorway at 140kph... they’re just not necessary imo.

To be fair OEM moulded flaps can look very subtle.

The Golf has flaps and the Civic doesn't and while I'll agree both still get filthy on a rainy day, I find you don't get as much solid stuff stuck to the Golf, just the remnants of the muddy water while the Civic will have bits of fine grit and debris stuck along it.

The 90s flat plastic, universal flaps that are fixed with self tappers look cat on a modern car but you don't really see those anymore.
