    Hi Guys,

I dont know very much about the intricacies of cars and I'm hoping for some help.

My Parents are looking at buying a new car, Ford Focus 2013, 1.6 Diesel. It's got 79k Miles on the clock and 190 road tax.

I suppose what I'm looking for is the following.

    Is the price about right?
Are there know issues with this type of Focus?

It's a UK import so make sure to verify the service history on it including ringing the garages that serviced it. Price seems a bit high given the mileage.

Here a 2014 with lower mileage not too far away for similar money, it's a UK import too so make sure to do proper background checks:

    Much appreciated Bazz.

Can you tell me how you know it's a UK Import?

It'll have mph clocks if it's a uk model.

Reg seems low for an import

The speedo clock has mph (outer) and kph (inner) dials. Irish cars have kph dials only from 2005 onwards. You can also put the reg into motorcheck and it will tell you.

Ah I see the speedo now. Wonder if it was a new import.

Bizarre one alright, that's why I put the reg into motorcheck to confirm. I wonder did Sligo just have low reg numbers back in 2013?

Thanks for all your help. Mum decided to go with same car but with a dealer down the road who gave her it for 11k and 1 years warranty and 1 years free service so she's happy out.

Did you do a history check on the one you're buying?
