What's an old 98 civic coupe worth

I have this thing as a secondary car for years. I really don't drive it anymore and kept it more as a symbol of my youth. I'd love to keep it and store it but I decided I want to empty my garage and put my Octavia in there during the nights.

It's an 98' with 111,000 miles with an NCT until April 2018'. It has a few dents here and there and needs a CV joint and a section of the exhaust replaced. The colour is green and that may not be too appealing to many. Standard car but generally in good condition for a car thats a notch under 20 years old. It's not a VTEC model..

The local tyre center the other evening when getting new tyres up front said I could probably get 1k for it but personally I don't think I'd ever get that for it.

Manual, I never seen an auto one of these before.

Is say they wouldn't be far out saying you could ask €1k.

They do come in auto. Is it 1.4? Should get around 600 or 700 for it

    It's a 1.6, the coupe never came in a 1.4.

You don't see many of those coupes around anymore. I'd ask for 1k and see what happens

They are rare now yes, the ones you do come across always look mint. Mine is no minter as it was a daily driven machine for years but mechanically it's very good. Engine , gearbox , clutch is perfect. Never crashed and drives straight as an arrow. Someone will turn this into a minter easily. I'm also the second owner of the car. I'll miss it no doubt.

    7 or 800 I'd say

I would reckon €500-600 as it stands.

As colm says 5 or 600. 1k isn't impossible but you might be waiting awhile to get it.

Not many are buying older cars these days, 1.6 tax and insurance issues with older cars will put people off.

    Ye that's true

Have you any pics or links to an advert? I do think 1k is on the high side but hard to know without pictures

At the same time, you'd have to ask €1k, or 950 for it if you want to take 6-700. If you advertise it for €700 lads will want it for €300 and they'll act like they're doing you a favour.

i agree ........OP will you take 300? :D

    I'll give you €301, cash.

You won't get a better offer.

My bet is that the op will get zero interest at 1k. I had my eye on one of those coupes last year, a nice tidy example that the seller was asking 1k for. In the end that car was reduced to 600 and still didn't move for a few weeks.

I would say scrap value, €200.

Well I suppose it boils down to how much he wants to shift it too. If it's only worth less than €500 say, he'd maybe rather keep it? It can surely only appreciate over time.
