For the people who paid their Irish Water bills, we are due to start receiving our refunds over the next few weeks.

Does anyone know when this will start and how much we will be getting back?

I moved in to a house share and they were already paying it. Have no idea how that would be reimbursed.

You get back what you paid.

I'd rather if they donated all the money to some more worthwhile causes. I only paid two bills of €30 each roughly but I got the €100 grant too so it's not like I'm out any money.

There are far more important things that the money could be spent on like the health service or homelessness charities/facilities etc

I happily paid my water bill.
I don't want the money back. I would sooner see them use the money to build a few schools. I will be giving it to a charity when I get it.

I would not trust the Government to donate on my behalf.

Calculate how much urine you're producing in a week and multiply by 10. Do you shower once a day or at all?

Irish Water would not confirm that over the Phone.

I paid Irish water in 2 address as I moved between payments.

They first said full refund and then said they were not sure how much would be refunded.

I paid my first bill as I wanted to sell my house and didn't want any issues.have been renting since and the ll didn't pay I also didn't apply for the €100. Keep it and put it toward fixing the problems, bloody shambles all round

House shares will be paid back in two ways
Option a, a water tanker will arrive at your house and you collect your refund in buckets and lots.
Option b , a refrigerated trick will deliver you blocks of ice.

As a few have already said, I'd rather forfeit it if it went to a drug or homeless charity, it's gone, I don't miss it,

I had no problem with paying water charges but I would not donate my refund to housing, schools, health funds etc. unless those who could afford to pay, but didn't do so out of principle, donated a similar amount.
