LIDL SILVERCREST TUNER - ONLY BBC CHANNELS

I recently connected a Silvercrest tuner which is a number of years old to a quad lnb. I've two cables - one running the main tv and one in a bedroom. The Silvercest hasn't been used in a long time but I had all BBC and Commercial channels when I originally installed. Earlier this week I reconnected the bedroom system but got no signal. I discovered 3 of the 4 outlets on the lnb were not working so I bought a new one. All channels are available on the old Sky Pace box but only BBC is showing on the Silvercrest. Do I need to update the software or merely do a new scan? If it's an update issue how do I go about it using a laptop?

A full scan should provide you with all the channels ......... make sure the correct satellite is selected (Astra 28.2E)

Were there fundamental changes during the last couple of years that resulted in all the ITV and Channel 4 stations moving elsewhere? I had all the channels when I first installed, but I haven't used the receiver for quite some time.

Last time I tried mine (after a couple of years of non-use) most of the channels were still tuned in.

Cannot do any harm to do a new scan to check.

You'd be going back to 2014-5 for most changes, 2016 for the ITV HDs. In some cases they didn't change frequency but the transmission parameters changed. See KoS for details

Thanks for the various suggestions. And that King of Sat, well, what can you say? Yet again, another example of the wonder that is the internet. I'll set about a full scan asap.

Is it one of their HD boxes? Obviously you won't get the HD channels if it isn't. The ones before 2012 I think were not HD.

I couldn't figure out how long you have it from what you posted.

I think it dates from about 2012 or thereabouts. HD isn't a priority, as long as I can see the regular mainstream channels. Haven't yet got around to re-scan. Hopefully that'll work.
