I baught 10 gallions of oil today swiched the central heating switch on boiler didnt kick in waited about 2 minutes and it kicked in and stopped and didnt switch on again.I assumed it was airlocked.I went and opened the bleed valve and pressed the button on the boiler.Done this numerious times but not a drop of oil is coming out .There is a pipe thats in the boiler that is hot.I am afraid there might be oil further inside the boiler and I might do damage by keep pressing it.Any ideas what might be wrong with it?

you have no oil coming to the burner,10 gallons of oil is probally not enough to give a gravity feed of oil to the burner. If you press the reset button more than a few times you risk or will damage the oil pump in the burner.

When you press the rest button.. Can you try starting it from the control unit afterward... What happens?

Well that sounds like your problem right there assuming you are opening the correct bleed screw. Probably last time it ran out of oil...took a load of silt/dirt in from tank. Take out bleed screw again and make cut off valve is open. Then check/change/clean filter on oil pipe from tank (usually next to cut off valve or on outlet from tank)...are you getting oil here?

If not might need a shot of air back through the oil line to clear... if that is the problem, might be a good idea to clean the tank out at some stage.
