Childcare to Social Care

I am currently doing my level 6 in Early Childhood Care and Education. I know I can progress straight to year two Childcare in AIT but I am wondering would it be possible to go straight to year two of Social Care considering it is a different field of study. Wondering if anyone else has tried or done this?
