Short and sweet, my old car, a 02, has been outside my house since xmas, no nct and ive a new car now so ive no intention of getting it up to scratch to pass.

Whats the best way to get rid of it? It runs fine but is immobile due to flat tyres. Any advice? :)

Pump the tyres or call the local scrappie. He may collect

Lash it up on donedeal, there will always be someone who will buy it if you set the price right, you probably have to pay scrappy with the way prices have gone these days for scrap metal.

Had something similar when my 99 Yaris was nolonger needed.

Stripped some parts off it then contacted http://scrapmycar.ie/

They arranged for a recovery truck to come pick it up, issued an end of life ert too, got a whole €10 for it :P

Website you linked to, quotes this:

    ITS THE LAW

All registered owners are now obliged to dispose of their vehicle at an Authorised Treatment Facility.

I wonder is there any truth in that?

Chap who turned up with the Recovery Truck, asked me to sign some paper work. Then issued an End of Life cert.

Last week got a tax reminder, contacted the Tax Office just confirm i have disposed of the car correctly.

"This vehicle is currently recorded on the National Vehicle & Driver File Database (NVDF) with a status of “End-of-Life”."
