Hi all, I am shortsighted in one eye and longsighted in the other. Lucky me:rolleyes:

I have a current prescription but i am really only using one eye at a time and the other would drift outwards. I was told that surgery could be possible but may not be succesfull as it's quite complicated with both eyes. Considering the cost, i'm not sure it's worth the risk.

I have noticed though that when i relax both eyes and focus them on the same object etc both my eyes are alligned except i don't see very clearly. A bit like double vision. i would use this alot when making eye contact with people as at least it is less embarrassing for me when having a conversation.

I am wondering though, could i not get a prescription for lenses for when both my eyes are focusing on the same thing rather than what i have now? Would my brain not adjust and the muscle become accustomed to using both eyes at the same time. I guess i could talk to my optician in specsavers about this. A stronger prescription would i guess be needed.

Otherwise, would there be any other options. Eye exercises/vision therapy etc?

    Thanks for any advise

Your best bet would be to go to an orthoptist, a person who specialises in eye muscles. They will do a thorough assessment and see if there is anything that can help
