As the title suggests . I've been working i Dublin for the last 20 years or so .last 10 in around the city . What I've noticed in the last month or two all the cranes disappearing .i counted 60 in the city center this time last year .now maybe 20 or 25 . What's happening?

I take it you're not around the Point/Docklands area then. Cranes everywhere

And yet the Irish Times "crane watch" reported a doubling in the number of cranes from this time last year. I think the latest figure was 68 cranes.

I read an article recently that said that only 9 companies were responsible for all the cranes in one of the recent crane watch surveys. The crane issue appears to be a complete distortion of where the market really is as the majority of the works been done are located in a very small section of Dublin for large international blue chips or vulture funds.
