I always put light up collars on my dogs for dark walks, as a driver I appreciate when I see a lit up dog and as a dog owner I feel safer knowing my dogs are visible. I also put hi vis jackets on my black dogs.

If I'm walking somewhere dark I use a headtorch so I can see, the dogs seem to have no trouble running around in the dark so I assume their eyesight is fine

I use collars similar to these

I got these these Trixie ones last year after our old ones packed in - the button and usb port is sealed/covered so no issues with them paddling with them on. Also they're thick so visible with my guys long fur on their necks : (€10 cheaper than pet shops here) http://www.zooplus.ie/shop/dogs/dog_collars_dog_leads/protection_fashion/saftey_collar/545383

We had Noby ones before which lasted a few years but eventually crapped out from water getting into them - the last one got dunked, turned on by itself(?!?) and wouldn't turn off - I had to leave it in the shed to die! :p. I did use a lidl one as stop gap and it wasn't as bright so prefer the Trixies!

Oh I also got bike lights last year in Halfords - the ones that are like rubber/silcone that wrap around the handlebar etc - I looped them onto their harness so they had a light flashing behind and then the one on their collar ;)

I have human armbands I pop onto the dogs necks - perfect fit
I also have a high-viz armband, with red LEDs, that you press a button on and flashing blinding LEDs - brilliant!!
