Just at the airport, and looking to the area in front of the plane, there's a small area marked chocks, cones and pigs. The first two are obvious, but what are pigs???

It's the wind up rope thing that creates a rope barrier from the rear steps, around the wing and towards the entrance to the terminal.
To prevent people waking under wing, or near engine or ground equipment.

In dublin they are just an orange stand with 2 wheels so the ramp guys can move them around, and 2 pulleys with orange rope/strap wound up. Positioned at wing tip. One rope to the front steps and one to the rear steps.
