We're out in the van all year around and I can hardly think of a single situation where a petrol generator wouldn't have been an annoyance not only to ourselves but those around us. You wouldn't choose to camp next to a catering van or icecream van why would you bring a petrol generator.

Got one eleven years ago and it's sitting in the garage with its first and only fill of petrol unused. Noisy smelly heavy and anti social. I'd spend the money on an additional leisure battery or put it towards a solar panel.

You can write camping on anything you like, its still going to sound like a wasp in your ear. If it was really suitable for camping it would be rubber mounted in a large acoustic enclosure with a large silencer as opposed to a spark arrestor. This will give you an idea of what it sounds like, bear in mind that the automatic gain controller in the camera will make it sound quieter than it is.

I prefer to write marine on things so I can charge 3x the price. Camping and leisure only gets me a 1.5x markup. tomatosplat.gif

You could also add a couple of token pieces of 304 stainless-ish steel so that you could describe it as stainless and charge another 50% :D
