GOING ON A WEEKS HOLIDAY

Im heading away to Spain at the end of the month, and im on jobseekers allowence what do i need to do in regards the social welfare, will they asked how i payed for holiday etc? as it was a birthday present and i use all my social on rent and bills have never being abroad before

"If you are getting Jobseeker's Allowance or Jobseeker's Benefit you can go on holiday for a maximum of 2 weeks and get the 2 weeks payment on your return. You must notify your Intreo Centre or Social Welfare Branch Office before taking your holiday."

They are unlikely to ask you who is funding your holiday - but if they do, just tell them that a family member is paying for it.

You don't have to tell them where you are going on your holiday, only when you are going and when you are coming back.

On your return they will want to see the boarding pass from your flight to show you came back when you say you did.

I didn't have to show my boarding pass when I came back from my holiday. However I was once asked where I go for a holiday. I think it depends on the person behind the desk. Some do check, some don't.

It's none of their business where you're going, they are not required to do any checks either on where you go.
