Depends where in Ireland - I wouldn't see it being much use in the north or west. It should probably work in the south/east.

    Hi, thanks for reply.
    We are in midlands.
I guess they generate weaker quality signal?

    Another brand of flat antenna

Current dish rear of house ......... Thinking of moving dish to front of house

Which way is your house facing?
You hopefully have a south facing wall on which to put the dish?

Hi, east facing wall so dish/flat panel to be angled slightly.

Yes, thanks for link it's the self sat panel I was considering but don't see them in use. Limited online info for Ireland suitability.

Very limited info on their use here ..... in fact I found none when I was considering the SelfSat Sat>IP version. :(

Also I could not easily determine which of the many 'styles'/models offered the better option.

I did not purchase due to my doubts, so I cannot give any answers about this either. :(

The antennas used on campers are very similar to those selfsats. My experience is aiming needs to be exceedingly precise but once thats done things work well.

We were hitting Astra from lots of Ireland (cant remember where we got it and didnt).

Ok, this is what I took from the OP..

What I took was the end of the sentence missing like: if you won't delete it then I'll sue you.

If it's your interpretation then effectively I don't know why the op would be asking a question if he had permission to use it.

For less money than the flat dish get a TRIAX made dish or inverto solid dish and lnb size you need eg quad for 4 outputs and 8 for an octo and replace pole for a thicker mast and you will never have a problem again...

Looks like the way to go alright. Thanks

Current dish rear of house (hate to see dish front of house). Current dish is always taking a battering from wind etc. It's eleavated above roof line on a "pole" to get signal.
In a less exposed area you could bolt the dish to a paving slab. You even could put the dish in a hole in the ground.

As long as it can see the satellite the few meters extra height isn't going to improve the signal. Depending on where you are you'll need an angle of 24 degrees above the horizon to be clear.
