    Hi guys,

Sorry if this questions has already been posted/answered, I checked but couldn't find a similar one.

My daughter recorded her first 2 covers in a professional studio and I want to try and get her played on the radio or social media..etc.

Just to try and get her name out there.

Do you really have to know someone on the radio to get them to play a young up and coming talent? Or is there websites/radio stations/radio shows that you can submit the songs to for them to play?

She's really good and the songs sound perfect.

    Any help is much appreciated!

    Shad0w.

    Hey there Shad0w

Depending on what the arrangement of the song is, it could be a little difficult to get this type of thing on the radio. If the recording is a new original take on the song, you could have some success with a Programme Director or whoever picks the playlists for the station. If it is the same arrangement with your daughter's singing replacing the original artist, it's probably not going to be played no matter how good her voice is. You can't really replace an original in this regard.

There are quite a few radio stations that have weekly shows dedicated to upcoming bands and artists but generally they encourage original music. Again though, you could have more success here if the cover is more of a new spin on the original song.

The first thing to do would be create a Facebook page, Youtube Channel and Soundcloud account and upload the music there. You'll also need some photos and a bio to flesh these out.

Then google a list of all Irish radio stations (local and national)
Make a list using Excel or whatever
Go to the 'Contact Us' page on each website
See how each station prefers to receive new submissions (some of these might invlove burning a CD and mailing it to the station)
Submit. The more stuff you throw at the wall, the more chance something will stick.

You should of course also be pushing the accounts above using Twitter/FB etc.

Finally there's an active subreddit called https://www.reddit.com/r/coversongs/ where you can submit a link and get some ears on your daughter's track and maybe some feedback too.
