Hi, would welcome any help on place to stay, north, south, east or west of Island, will not be hiring a car so somewhere not too far from airport but by the coast. Am aware the weather is unpredictable at this time, and any suggestions of a really nice hotel with spa/jacuzzi etc. which is accessible by public transport from airport. I know I'm asking for a lot here but hopefully someone will share their travel advice. Thanks

I stayed in Palma and would stay there again, expecially off-season when the resorts might be quiet. My hotel was the Melia Palace Atenea, right in front of the marina, bus to airport and city centre. Didn't use the spa myself, it does have one.

Palma is a lovely city and you could check out public transport options to days out locally

I'd recommend the wooden train from Palma to Soller (and then the tram to Puerto Soller).

    It's a lovely trip.

Thanks for this suggestion, sounds lovely. Must sort hotel soon as they are selling out.

    It's a lovely trip.

I'd second this, lovely trip and the area around Soller is really nice.

I've been to Mallorca twice in early October, first time it was consistently 25-28c the whole time, second time it was slightly more changeable but still good most of the time. Great value to be had around this time.

This is good to know, thought it might be much cooler, any suggestions on hotels, planning on staying in Palma as other areas maybe too quiet given its so late in season, would like option of hot tub, breakfast in hotel.
