I finished college last year and I've been without a student travel card for longer than I can bear. I missed my discounts... I've hear of alumni lining up for cards with the freshers during freshers week and getting cards in amongst all the craziness. Has anyone done this? Freshers is next week and I'm tempted to go in on monday.

You need a valid student card for getting the travel card, the best you could hope for is an ents card for some discounts, but some of the places on there will also ask for a student I.D so it is risky.
