    Hi all

I want to buy sneakers from the US for $320 USD + $50 shipping, does anyone who previously bought clothes/shoes from the US know how to calculate the cost it would be including VAT and Customs Duty?

I tried to calculate it myself but just wanted to double check on here.

    Thanks in advance!

23% of $370 gives you $85. Then you'll have an post's handling charge of 7 euro so you're looking at around $80 customs

Check the Stickied thread the the top for duty rates as well. Go to the Taric link and find the tariff code for adult athletic shoes and it'll tell you if duty is applicable.

Chapter 12 - Footwear, when you click it brings up Chapter 64 footwear.
    From 6401-6406
Click on each link until you see 6402 19 brings you to Sports footwear, other.
Click on that brings you to Country of Origin, when you put in US and click on retrieve measures.
Bad news, according to that, is 16.9% duty.

It might not be sent via an post, so the handling charge could be over double that. Also the couriers could well come up with their own figure for postage, maybe about 85euro, and charge you VAT on that (which can possibly be argued or got back, after a huge amount of hassle)

Are you sure they cannot be got in the EU? there is a "bargain requests" forum.
