Buying a new car in GBP

I am thinking about buying a new car preferably a Peugeot 3008. Does anyone know if it is possible to buy a new car in up north or in a boarder area and pay in pounds (arranging a HP or PCP in Pounds) but have it Rep. Ireland registered or does this go through the same procedure as buying a used car and VRT etc?

The reason I ask is I currently work in the UK and get paid in UK pounds and it would be cheaper for me to pay monthly in pounds

Finance/pcp company won't agree to a non uk regd car, too hard for them enforce repo cross border , plus insurance issues, why can't you drive it on uk plate s if you can come up with a uk address ?

If you try and register a new car here you'll have to pay VAT as well as VRT. You're better off using UK details and keeping it on UK plates if feasible.
