transition year work experience

So I just started ty and my school advised us all to apply for work experience while we still have time, and with that I have looked everywhere and I don't know how or where to apply, does anyone have any suggestions? somewhere around Dublin maybe, I'm usually very shy but I want to try to overcome that.
