    Right.
My old TV ( crt ) was a scart job. I had the sky box outputting audio via hdmi to my surround sound amp and the TV connected via scart. All good until TV died. Now my nice new flatscreen only has HDMI. When i plug sky box into it via HDMI there is NO SIGNAL. I need to tell my sky box to start sending video via HDMI or do a factory reset or anything but I have no screen to connect sky bopx to to do this. The vga output on skybox wontfit normal old monitor vga cable so am I snookered ?????

What do I do. Can I factory reset sky box using a combination of buttons and not a screen ?

    aaarrrgghh

On the TV remote have you tried selecting the correct input by pressing on the "source" or "AV" button?

It may be that the TV is not set to the correct input

Why do you assume it is an issue with the sky box? There is no setting to switch HDMI on/off, besides if you were feeding audio to your amp via HDMI it is working.

I would try, in this order; use different HDMI cable, connect another HDMI source to TV, connect sky box to another HDMI tv.

Go into the hdmi setting on your tv and set it to native by tv or start at the lowest resolution and work upas in 576i and work up til u get a picture

I think you just need to fully power off the box at the mains and it will autodetect when it powers up if there is a HDMI connected.

    “Roll it back”

Thanks all. I'll try the suggestions but the TV was taking a hdmi signal from xbox into same HDMI input with same cable.
I had the sky box sending audio only over HDMI so maybe that hasn't auto reverted.

I've tried powering off sky box etc. to no joy.

    I'll try settings Larchilad.

    Good stuff

If you were to give make and model of tv and the age of the sky box ie is it amstard or pace or older? The likelihood is that other people have same tv and others will have same sky box, I have quite a few sky boxes. Te only option on sky box for hdmi audio is stereo or dolby digital, that does not cut off the video signal. Try the hdmi lead you used on xbox etc. Its a rather strange fault but no doubt has a simple fix!!
