Any details? I've seen a few of the posters from previous years so I presume it will be similar enough.
    Thanks

Jesus, can't wait for next week now. Though in doctors ATM with a dodgy back strain from work today, hoping for a positive outlook.

Yeah, but it's normally early season

If the weather holds up it will help, no surface water etc. Hopefully lads are fed up.now and decide to give it a miss.
Lad that won Traders Cup.is a cert to be there imo, looks very strong on falt courses.

That course never feels as flat as it should be!

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 16,872 ✭✭✭✭dahat

Is it a dangerous course or just lads themselves being the problem?

Was that the crash at the finish ? In fairness of any finish in a race its possibly on the widest road possible and on a drag , so there should not possibly be a crash there . No excuse for it really .

    Whats the route for this?

Where in Lucan will it be on? Out by newcastle?

Just want to avoid the race if possible.

It was an honest question, I live in lucan so have to get kids to sports etc at the weekend and would like to avoid the race if possible.

Also I am sure the stewards would prefer to have unnecessary traffic to deal with.

Oh wait I see the link above, its not in Lucan!! Going by the name it was in Lucan in the past?

Out on the Trim Road - loops of a well used racing circuit. Think it might start at Dunsany GAA.

A1/2/3 races are now handicapped raced it seems. I was either dreaming or read an notification in a Facebook group earlier.

That was always the way for the Lucan GP from memory.

    Maybe not...
Lucan Gp this saturday folks.Due to circumstances beyond our control the A1/2 and 3 race will be a handicapped event.Generous handicap and prizes so spread the word.

A4 race done and dusted. 3 VCB starters and 3 finishers in bunch. No points but all upright and safely home.
Vets race tomorrow and thats my road season done for another year.

Fair play! Bring it home tomorrow. Can't muster the motivation to get out the last few weeks. Must try harder in 2018.

Nice race and couldn't get a gap for the Sprint, all dressed up in the bunch after losongy wheel who finished 4th, he went left 1km out and my gap closed to follow.
Questionable conduct towards a Junior A4 rider from an older lady on two occasions, asshole conduct tbh.

Feel.a bit deflated now but with a 4th and a 1st in my debut racing season is something to be proud of really.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 16,872 ✭✭✭✭dahat

    Yeah, A1,2 & 3 was a handicap race with women's race in with A4.

+1 on that, well done Lucan. Corners swept, road surface in good condition. Well stewarded. Good circuit for a sizeable bunch.

Yes that is what I gathered from sticky bottle results. Was considering going to the race however and clearly saw 3 separate races on the advertising poster though it did strike me as strange that the A1/2 and A3 races were given as the same length.

Were numbers low in these races ?

It was changed in the week leading up to the race, circumstances beyond their control was the reason given. Not sure on the numbers contesting the 3 as didn't take much notice before hand.

I really didn't think that one through. Better try and get a Tiernans jersey on your podium. I presume it will be just like the league and we go from the gun until only the bare minimum survive. Are you racing or marshalling?

Marshaling I’m afraid , we are not allowed race it .
