Passive house heating & ventilation?

Anyone have any thoughts on the cheapest way to get 2.5 kw of heat distributed around a passive house?

The ventilation can take 2kw of air heating so could go for a compact unit that could deliver that which would leave me with 0.5 of a kilowatt needed to supplement. Im thinking a bioethanol fire or maybe ceramic emitters like in the Carrigaline passive house by WMA or even an electric panel heater?

Total outlay for this would be c.€8k with all heating and ventilation accounted for. (ducting and ductwork not included)

    Anyone any advice?

An ethanol fire in the main living space would be a nice solution but you have the hassle of keeping it stocked up and you obviously have less control than you would with other systems.

Would you consider a small air-to-air heat pump heating the main living space? Then heat the other rooms via the ventilation system

You're probably aware that using air to heat space isn't ideal but you will get much better efficiency from a heat pump than an electric panel heater. Plus it will contribute to Part L renewables if it is an issue in your house.
