Transfer to closed account

    Hi I have been informed that a money transfer I was due to receive has been transferred to my old BOI account which I have since closed. Can you let me know what usually happens in this instance. Does the money bounce back to person who made the transfer?

    Hi P_donn,

    Welcome to Boards, and thanks for your post today.

    If your account is closed the funds should bounce back to the sender. If they sent it through SEPA from a non- BOI account, it could take 2 - 3 business days for the funds to be returned to them.
