Hi, we are looking for a recommendation for a structural engineer for a small job. Job is basically to remove an internal supporting wall and extend a dining room / open plan kitchen/dining room area to back garden. Extension area would be approx 15 square meters.  So need an engineer to spec steel and do the necessaries in order to obtain the relevant certs on completion. Cheers!

Have you got your builder lined up to commence?
Reason I ask is that most builders worth their salt are busy and booked for their next job already.

we are also looking for a builder at the same time, certainly it's a hard time to find both. If you have a recommended builder that'll be appreciated!

Just to ad also, do not fall into the trap of letting the builder organise an engineer and all certification.
You want the Engineer working for you looking after your interests not working to maximise builder profits.
I realise you are currently going about this the right way in seeking recommendations but too many fall for the cowboy builders sales pitch when he says he can look after everything.

Thanks for the tips! yep that's the way we are going. Just need a decent builder who will be interested in the job now.
