VW Tiguan cruise control problem

Do any of you kind people have any advice on how to operate the cruise control system on the VW Tiguan?

I have the switch set to "on" but pressing the set/res button on the stalk doesn't seem to do anything. (Yes while I'm moving, not stationary)

My last car (Golf ) had cruise control on it and it appears to be the same set up, yet this one isn't doing anything.

    Please help.

I will attach a picture of my instrument panel.

    Thanks.

I cannot seem to attach a picture. However the cruise control is obviously turned on. Although the words "cruise control" aren't being displayed in my speedometer panel.

I hope this doesn't have to go back to the garage......

I was trying to engage it at +65kph earlier.

See the round symbol in white below the letters "kmh" in the centre display, that means you've successfully turned cruise control on. When it's in that position, press and hold (2 seconds) "set" one the stalk tip, this should turn that symbol green which means you are in cruise control.

If it doesn't turn green, you have a fault.

Drive up to speed and press set. + & - will increase and drop speed by 5kmph

What model is it? Do you have the regular cruise control or the new Adaptive Cruise Control (ACC)?

If I remember correctly from my previous Tiguan, without ACC, there was a switch on top of the left stalk, you had to move it to the right to turn on cruise control. When on, you had the corresponding indicator lit in your dashboard, the one with the speedometer and an arrow. With cruise control enabled, you can then set the speed, etc.

In our new Tiguan, we have the ACC, and the buttons are all on the left side of the steering wheel. Once again, before you can use cruise control, you need to enable it by pressing the correct button. After it is enabled, you need to set the speed, etc.

Based on your pics, you have the older style, and it is enabled. When disabled, the dash displays car's odometer in that spot. When speed is set, you should see a number instead of the three dashes, your set speed. If it doesn't, take it to the garage.

The model is the 2.0 tdi sport. Not sure about what speed control option is in it, I do know it has all the bells and whistles (park assist etc etc)

I've tried everything suggested so far and nothing seems to be rectifying it.

It's new to me (from today) but my husband or I will have to take it into the dealer tomorrow again.

If it's 152 it won't have ACC. Have you had cruise in any previous cars? Where did you buy it?

    Hello.

Yes we've had cruise control on two previous vws and this one seems to be the exact same set up.

I would prefer not to mention the dealer if it's ok.

Yeah well you know what you're at so, probably just something simple wrong with it, I wouldn't let it spoil the new car!

No need to mention the dealer, just curious!

    Hopefully.

Himself isn't yet in from work, so I will delay telling him for now.

    Thanks for your help.
