Hi, I need recommendations for a new cleanser and toner. I used to use Garnier's ones for dry skin, but they changed all their formulas recently to 'naturals', they're basically completely different products and make my skin really dry. Does anybody have any recommendations for cleanser and toner that are near enough to Garnier's old ones for dry skin? Thanks!

I'm actually on a new cleanser hunt myself so have no suggestions there, but for a toner I can't recommend Pixi Glow Tonic enough. It's my all-time favourite skin care product, wouldn't be without it!

Do you mean the Garnier make up remover cream? Yea they changed the formula completely. If you look at old bottles it used to say "no alcohol", it doesn't say that anymore so it seems they've added alcohol. I used to love the old one but the new formula makes my skin go on fire. Right now I find the Olay cream cleanser good and the toner is nice too.

I'd second the Pixi Glow tonic too. Amazing stuff. I actually bought the mini in M&S first to see would it agree with my skin as mine can be quite sensitive & am now on my second big bottle.

In terms of cleanser I find the Liz Earle hot cloth one very good and not drying. I always go back to the Clinique Take the Day Off balm though. I find it really great at getting make up off without being in any way drying. It's not the cheapest but seems to last me ages so I'm happy enough paying that and generally you can find somewhere that's doing the free gift with purchase if you want to get something extra.

If you have a bit of budget to play with I'd recommend taking a look at the Dermalogica range. I've used their special cleansing gel and daily super exfoliant twice a day for the past year and they have transformed my skin, evened skin tone, made it clearer and more dewy.

Now they are expensive but last AGES- I'd average on two bottles a year for each. Worth checking out if you're willing to invest in quality skincare.
