I'm on it since April and I feel that it has changed my life. I also saw a psychotherapist a couple of times. It can take some time and getting used to it can be tricky, but it was so worth it for me. There are also many other options if it isn't successful.

Hi inca2, I took my first tablet today and had an awful experience. I wont be taking it again, im still not feeling right after taking it 12 hours ago. For me its just not worth it.
Delighted it worked for you though.

I had a horrendous time for the first 10 days or so - sticking with them was so, so difficult but I'm so glad I did. I'm sorry to hear that you've had a similar experience. Would it be worth chatting to your GP or pharmacist to see if they have any recommendations? Most side effects can be managed short-term until they settle down. Personally, I couldn't sleep at all and was incredibly anxious - it was so much worse than I was feeling before but everything settled after a few days and I slowly started to feel a lot better.

It takes time, stick with it, it's often not nice but it's better than whera you were.. Stay brave and keep in touch with your gp a lot.

Thanks everyone for your replies, ive already thrown them out. Ive now been awake 36 hours, I didnt sleep the night before (my own fault) but im unable to sleep tonight because of the tablet I took today, im still experiencing side effects with insomnia, all over body muscle twitches and feeling pretty crappy, thank god I dont have anywhere to go tomorrow. Its just not worth it, ill take my regular anxiety over this any day.

Please get in touch with your GP about this when you feel ready to - this is such a common issue people have when starting antidepressants and it annoys me that it's not explained properly. If things were communicated, it might make a small difference. Honestly, I had a terrible time starting off but I am so glad I stuck with it - but couldn't have done it without other meds to control my anxiety and help me to sleep. They didn't fix the problem but they took the edge off and made it a little more bearable. I hope you can give things a go again at some point if you have a bit of support/reassurance?
