Just wondering what time parking generally fills up in Maynooth Station Car Park, I have to commute up to Dublin from there around 7:55 for a few weeks and I'm wondering if I'll be ok for parking at this time?

    MTIA!

If you are willing to drive an extra 15 minutes, head to M3 parkway or Dunboyne and park at either station. Both have huge car parks and both are free.

It'll be just filling at that stage, you'll probably still get a space especially if you're in a short car - there's normally space near the front that are narrow to get into due to cars parking opposite. Also there's a regular thing of about 4 cars parking on exit path far end from station.

Louisa Bridge in Leixlip a 5 minute drive, much bigger car park, opposite side of road from station

Already fun and games here this morning, and going to get worse.

3 large trucks delivering gravel for the tracks - were meant to be here at 5am according to station staff - now stuck down at far end of rapidly filling station, blocking last few spots with angry drivers trying to catch a train.

More worrying for them is that there's no way the trucks will fit out through the narrow entrance now that cars have parked on the canal side. So especially if you own a red Peugeot with an N plate in the window, that's sticking out more than others, and already has lads in hi-viz looking at and sucking cheeks, it'll be very tight for them getting out.

Not sure if it helps, but the station over in hazelhatch is bigger, and there's a train (using the tunnel) to GCD that stops in Drumcondra, Connolly, Tara, and Pearse.

There's a bigger car park in Louisa Bridge too. But I live in Maynooth, and drop little one to creche there, so Maynooth train station is the local one. Also trains start there (so guaranteed a seat) and there are non-stop trains a certain times from Connolly to Maynooth, so gives more flexibility.

Does anyone frequently get the 8:15 intercity service from Maynooth to Connolly, would you usually get a seat or does it be booked up?

    MTIA!

Some days you do and some days you don't! I've noticed it's gotten a bit busier now that it arrives at 8.14 instead of the old 8.09 time. But there are always people standing on it when it leaves Maynooth.

You will never get a seat on it. During school holiday times they shorten the train...
