    A group policy will contain a "non selection limit" and if your sum assured is below that you would have to answer no medical questions.

    If you answered medical questions however it might be different.

    I'd approach personnel or whomever runs the scheme.

    In basic terms they are using the herd rating system. They expect a certain amount of people to be perfect health but also accept the risk they may get a few people with pre existing conditions that once they are under a certain amount t of coverage they will accept with no underwriting.

    Better find out now the details of the policy.
    No point in finding out when you need it that it is of no use
    To important a detail to overlook
    As someone who need the policy when i became permanently ill the finer details become very important when you need them.
