    Quick one- what's the minimum number of competitors in an age bracket for there to be a second prize, under Triathlon Ireland rules?

    The age bracket depends if the race is National Series or not... 5-year bands are only used for NS races, otherwise Junior, 20 – 34 years, 35 – 49 years and 50+ categories. From a TI briefing document: "A second place prize shall be awarded where there are at least eight competitors in the specific category. Please note overall winners are not included in age group prizes. A third place prize shall be awarded where there are at least thirteen competitors in the specific category".
