    It's that time again folks...

I'm looking for your advice in changing my company car. The budget is €29,500. No Trade in. Cash Buyer. Fleet will/Should apply. Fulfilment with local dealership.

The preference is for a Diesel. I'm coming out of a Mazda 6, 2.2 Diesel... What a great engine. In fact, what a great car. I'm c

Covering 50K Km per year. I don't carry stock but do have two kids 6 & 4.

I looked at the Hyundai Tuscan, Very dull engine, Very bland interior. I don't get how it's so popular! Another car I looked at was the Kia Optima. I was very surprised with the finish. I'd love the 7 speed auto as it hides the lack of power (yes, I know it's the same engine as the Tuscan) but it's out of budget I believe.

My preference is for something with a bit of size but the way the pricing point of many brands are at present I may not have a choice.

The other half wants a Jeep Renegade... I've yet to be able to get a dealer that can give me test drive. The search continues.... Help please...

What about another Mazda, maybe a CX5 as it's an SUV?

Why not a new Mazda 6?
A Ford Mondeo maybe or a nearly new Kia Optima. There is a brand new Opel Insignia out you could try that.

    Live long and Prosper

    Peace and long life.

Have a look at the new Civic. It is a beautiful car to drive and has all the tech you and comfort you need. for 29.5 you will get a good spec. Styling may not be to everyone's taste. I am not sure though if they have diesels on the market here yet

With you mileage and coming from a 2.2 Mazda 6 I'd say stick with another large family diesel.

Mondeo 2.0 Zetec or Insignia 1.6 130bhp SC might be available in budget but nothing wrong with another Mazda 6

+1 for another 6. I've one from new now well over 70k Kms done with zero hassle. Also company car. Far better dynamics and performance than anything you've listed. You should get something almost new with a long warranty at that price- sounds like you want and appreciate something good to drive so you'll feel miserable stuck in a Tucson or something that's underpowered and average to drive. The fuel economy is also excellent given the size of the car and performance. I'm getting 52 mpg and I'm far from light footed.

With your high mileage I would not go near Cross Over/SUV. They are not very economical on diesel because of the additional height. They are ok for standard user who will not really notice but you will.

I would stick with the "sales man" cars. So the Mondeo of course springs to mind. The engine is solid/realible and economical. I had 2 of them and due to space have moved to SMAX and now Galaxy. All running the same engine more or less. All as solid as a rock. Even high mileage Mondeo's will find a home, my bro has one with over 200k miles on it and she is flying

The other is Insignia. Maybe could be seen as a little more exciting inside but I think a few question marks over realibility. Don't expect to resell either at end of term as it will be just good for scrap page.

You know he Mazda so no point discussing, your probably like myself and with a new car want some different. I recently swapped from SMAX to Galaxy and a little underwhelmed as they are more or less the exact same

THe Hyundai i40 or Kia version could be alternative. I liked the i40, not sure what current model is liked but I nearly bought a few years ago. Had lots of extras for decent price compared to known brands. I think the Kia version is Optima and you can get a sporty model. But I don't know much more about them

Im on my second Peugeot 508sw and already have 19k on the one I got on the 6th of June so I would be a fairly high mileage driver.
In terms of the car, its engine is rock solid. Grand for motorway eating but also small bit of poke around town. You may feel a power drop from a 2.2l to the 1.6 I have.
There is a large amount of extras on the car. Too many to lost compared to Mondeo.
Mine is a fleet car and I think it was not far off tbe 29.5k budget you have.

Depends if you are looking at SUV or saloon type.

Check out Merc C class. They are running 6% reduction at the moment and it drives really well.

I have driven friends 151 Mazda 6 and would say it's powerful but interior is noisy and don't give that premium feel.
