Why is my boiler causing whistling&humming?

    Hi folks...

Been searching online for answers to no avail so hoping someone can help here...

When the boiler of the stove kicks in to heat the radiators and hot water tank, the result is an evening of a low tone whistling and whine..starting to drive me nuts as the telly isn't drowning the noise out...

Does anyone know what may be causing this?? Its a brand new water tank, stove and old closed system has been converted to open system...

The noise only occurs once the thermostat temperature is reached...until then, not a peep...

Noise definitely coming from the boiler as its really loud at back of stove...

    Many thanks for any opinion....

    probably not your issue

but I do know of a situation where the pump was causing a problem because the impeller was loose causing the noise to vibrate along the pipe work

I don't do plumbing only service and repair oil boilers

but you do from time to time hear the woes of people with stoves etc this was one such case and the pump was fitted new only about 8 months previous

the usual stories you hear are before the pump kicks in which can be because of poor stat position

more of the lads on here are more into the plumbing maybe dtp might give you his imput if he sees this post

sorry cant be of further assistance
