Water drop in header tank

    Hi guys,
I'm investigating whether I have a leak in my heating system (there's a damp smell in the house). As part of this, I've tied up the ball cock in the header tank in the attic so that it can't be topped up with fresh water.
Over a 7 day period the level in the tank has dropped about 1cm. Given the size of the tank, I reckon this is about 1 litre of water lost. Is this a sign of a problem? Or would there be natural evaporation off the tank since its warm this time of year in the attic?

    thanks
