I've just realised you're probably looking at it from an anti-inflammatory viewpoint for arthritis... Is that it?
I've been using it here, but I'm also using hyaluronic acid capsules and omega 3, both of which have proven efficacy with joint issues, so though there's a notable improvement... I can't say which is helping!
That said, I ran out of cbd oil a few weeks ago (I was using the Holland & Barrett stuff), and haven't noticed any deterioration. Would love to get some feedback from humans who use in for inflammatory issues :o

I actually ordered some of the CBD brothers one at the weekend. I'm using a different one atm for Bailey but ready to stop as it's a waste of time so going to try this one for arguments sake!

Would you not be hit by customs for the Canna-pet stuff?

    Hi guys,

I was recommended this brand by conor of dogs first etc that why I am investigating it.. but if anyone has any other recommendations I'd appreciate it.

DBB yes I am considering it for anti inflammatory reasons but also he is quiet anxious as of late (we're just back from holidays and he has been on hunger strike) :( he's 12.5 now and loves his routine etc so us being away he wasnt impressed at all - I feel so bad for him. He was so bad my mother in law even brought him to the vet while we were away.. they found nothing .

He's also quiet lethargic also of late and Loxicom can cause this .. so I'm
Hoping I may be able to take him
Off it .. we had full bloods done 6 weeks ago and all was fine dunno what to do to be honest!

I asked my vet about the CBD oil and she doesn't see any value (not that I'm
Surprised) and I'm also looking at getting him the loop to help with pain management ...

I'd be interested what dosage you give, I'm looking at omega oils for when luposan runs out, not noticing much change but he's still limping a bit when tired and on shorter walks since the op. I know vet said possibly 6-12 months recovery but anything that helps and prevents further damage is worth a try.

I'm giving both of my GSDs the daily human dose mymo... I don't think you can overdose them really.
Post-op lameness is one of those lamenesses (is that a word?) that disappears almost when you're not watching out for it... It does stick around for a long time, and the vet prognosis of the time it'll take is generally spot on. Then one day, you're out for a walk, and you realise the dog is trotting sound!
Then there can be the odd day of lameness but these seem to get further apart.
Have you done any physio with him?

I get my fish oil on bulkpowders.ie - they always have 30% off sales etc. The get 3 capsules a day - 1 in each meal. Lucy won't take the capsule off me but will eat it if I put in in her food! :p

Haven't done any physio, just gentle walks and building up distance slowly. He can run, walk about half hour on grass, but less on footpaths before I notice the lameness getting worse. He is terrified of water so can't do hydro.
He's playing with other dog, or his friend who comes to visit, jumping on beds again (I don't just mean jumping up on them, he likes a bounce) and seems in great form. I just want to prevent deterioration as much as possible. He had the cartrophen injections about a month after op. Vet said with the amount of cartilage damage he had, it would be slower to heal than if just the cruciate.

We went with a water treadmill this time around for hydro and just less stress for Bailey and he happily walks for his treats! He's 'graduated' now to only needing to go every second week for 2-3 more sessions and then he's done.
Anyways our cbd oil has left the uk but not on an post's tracking yet so I don't expect it tomorrow :(

I'm in London and stocked up on the organic omega fish oils on offer in a shop here, got about 3 months supply for £32, will see how they go.
Oliver will probably eat them like sweets, he eats anything you offer him!
Tiffi is another story, but she doesn't need them at the moment.

    Hi folks,
Just reawakening this thread as I thought you may be interested in this newly published research on CBD oil and osteoarthritis...

    Abstract here: https://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pubmed/30083539

    Full paper here: https://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pmc/articles/PMC6065210/

I actually stopped ours as I didn't see a difference! And same with tumeric paste as I didn't trust it with the panc. Although at the time he hadn't been diagnosed with the muscle tear yet which (at the risk of jinxing) healed up with physio and controlled exercise..

It would be interesting to see the implications of the changes in the alkaline phosphatase. Not sure what that is a marker for the serum chemistry.

Any vets or vet nurses have any comment on this? :)
My guess is that it doesn't, or can't, say too much, as it's rather a broad parameter.
