im looking to get a meterless esb connection for an electric fence. i already have a metered connection but ground rent is huge.

    in order to get the new connection i need to submit 2 maps, @ scale 1:2500 - 1:10560 and @ scale 1:100 - 1:500.

will the single farm payment map do one of these and if yes which one. where could i source these maps

I know OSI (Ordinance Survey Ireland) have these maps for anywhere in the country. Usually used for planning permission. Around €70 as far as I remember, as I havent done a planning job in 3 years.

Locate your site with the link above and take note of the coordinates.
The Osi map store (094) 902 3569 in Castlebar if you give them a call with the coordinates they can send you out the maps you need.

Nope! Planning maps 6 copies about €60. Less would do you I would expect.

I rang for the maps today but they don't have the map for the scale 1:100 to 1:500, she said they don't do them. Where would I get this map from?

1:100 and 1:500 would be more usually scales for drawings and fairly detailed drawings at that.
If it's just a location on a map, with no buildings etc no more details to show at this scale.

I think you better check with the esb exactly what they want.
At 1:100 a square 10 acre field would need a map over 6 foot by 6 foot.

They basically require the location map and a site layout map.
These are typically part of a planning application and are easy to provide for most connections.
The 1:2500 can be had from the map store as mentioned. You would need to outline the extent of the property concerned on this.
The 1: 500 map would be a layout drawing showing field boundary, esb poles and lines, buildings roads etc.
You could ask them if it's required for this application. If it is, get a basic layout drawn up showing those basic features.

just filling out the form now, there are 2 questions I am unsure of under point 7 on the application form

The first one is "Equipment Type", what do I include here.

The second question is "Actual Wattage" what is the wattage of an electric fence?

    It depends on the fencer

if I put in 50 watts will that cover it?
