The 43" version(43UH603V) is £450 on Amazon but Richer Sounds are £400. So tempting ...

    That's a different version to the OP's

I have the LG 43UH650V that I picked up for £399 but tbh, I'm far more impressed by a similarly specced Hisense my Sister purchased at about the same time.

The Hisense models really do look intriguing. Is the smart functionality good? I am really asking in general and for the Hisense. The last TV I bought was about 10 years ago so very primitive smart features.

I'm still heartbroken by a 3 year old LG 47" with failed main board, seems to have been a very common problem. Are LG electronics any more reliable then they were 2-3 years ago?

Having worked with LG phones for a few years, I wouldn't buy any LG product again

Is Samsung the only one making all their own panels

Panasonic and Sony outsource the low end stuff

Hisense TVs are available from Richer Sounds. Delivery from Belfast is very reasonably priced. Clincher for me is they offer 6 year guarantee on most of their TVs and will price match even web prices. You can contact John Mc and the team on Talk to...

No affiliation with them BTW; just a satisfied customer for many years

What do people think of this? I'd prefer go with hisense if they got back to the 55 inch for 450 GPB that they used to be however they have increased by a lot since then which is a shame.

Will they do warranty work down here or would you have to return to Belfast?

I don't think we can say with certainty yet what impact brexit may/may not have on returns to UK

Mate has an LG TV was circa 1.300 reduced from 1800 approx

Screen flickered after 16 months in Aug 2017

Despite out of warranty they repaired with new screen FOC

Unbelievably bad for such a high spec high priced bit of kit

Yes I believe it's the same one. There was a big thread about the Hisense ones, where the price was consistantly getting down to 450 GBP. Although the model in question would have to be at least a year and a half old now. Still though... good price.

I've heard bad things about LG since

Leaning towards Sony/Samsung and Richer Sounds for 6 year warranty

They do a compare tool on their website and it seems the Hisense offer much more bang for your buck.....but they have none of them in stock
