Im using a sky dish installed last year with a ariva 253. Im getting loads of channels but not the ones i want ie. Bbc itv C4 etc. Ive noticed the frequencies for these channels are very poor.
Is this a dish alignment issue. The frequencies that are good are between 80 and 90% all the rest are between 10 and 45%.

The BBC channels on 10847 Vertical are the very strongest signals on 28 East (in Ireland). One thing worth checking is whether all the channels you are getting are Horizontal. If that is the case and you are not getting any Vertical channels, then a new LNB might solve the problem.

Thanks dxhound, 10847 is very weak. Ill check if the strong signals are horizontal tomorrow.

I have strong signals on horizontal and vertical and receiving loads of crap channels on both.
    But weak on 10847 vertical.
Another thing about this is that im having the same problem on two combo receivers and both have cables running straight from the sat.

When you say crap channels, can you be specific on an example of what you receive on which transponders?

This transponder is actually 11464 not 10803.
It sounds to me like you have the wrong setting for the local oscillator frequency.
What model box have you got?

Ah I see now its an Ariva.... there should be a setting for that. On the 120 its called LNB Freq under Antenna Setup. Probably similar on 153.

My model is the 253 but probably doesnt matter to much.
In antenna setup what should i set LNB freq and transponder to.
