I've a scratch on the casing of my wing mirror, it's plastic and at the deepest part its 0.5mm deep.

Do I just sand it down until it's smooth or do I get isopan.
I'm determined to do this myself as I had a scratch on my rear bumper and the "professional" made a right tit of it, paint is rough to touch, it feels like there's dust or grit in places and the colour is not matching.

Best way to fix that is to head to a breakers and get an undamaged cap in the same colour. Should cost <€20. It'd probably cost more than that for the DIY materials to repair.

That said, if you must DIY it, remove the cap, sand, fill, sand and paint the whole cap again.
