    Hi there

We have Saorview via an aerial and a Samsung TV from 2012 which is not a smart TV as such. No satellite. We get the Saorview channels plus a lot of BBC/ITV/Channel 4 from spillover (north Meath), also stuff like Dave, Yesterday etc. All works fine but would like to be able to pause and record tv. What do we need?! I'm getting mithered reading up on it. Is it a "combo" box we're looking for or is that to do with satellites? We don't have decent internet so not looking for something that needs Wifi etc.

    Would this do the trick?

Bearing in mind we have gone 5+ years without being able to record so anything is going to be better than what we have now!

The guy in our local DID keeps saying there is no such thing - very hard to get info in real life.

    Thanks!

Not sure how well the Walker PVR handles the overspill Freeview signal.

Recommend here previously was the Panasonic range of PVRs, https://www.panasonicstore.ie/product-category/bluray-dvd/blu-ray-dvd-recorder/, shop around, you might get them cheaper elsewhere.

With that range the UK channels are stored in the correct UK order with the Irish channels stored at random down in the 800s but can be moved into the required location on the epg from 1 upwards.

Thanks Cush, I am running now - think I will call that store tomorrow and see if I can speak to someone about it all. Thank you!

You might get them cheaper across the border.

Just a few point to note with that range, no subtitles available with the Irish channels, no series linking for the Irish channels when setting recordings.

Good to know, will be in Newry soon - Currys?

Thanks for the pointers - will survive without those issues.
