All bought in cattle get a worm dose when bought in usually endospec or bimectin. All housed cattle get a worm dose and fluke injection two weeks after housing.
All Younger cattle <2 years get worm dose in July/august or when they start coughing. Anything else that show signs of scouring get a dose of endospec. No need to over do it.

used to use closamectin pour on but 2 year ago some stock became very lose so took sample vet sent to Slago test came back heavily infected with gut worm recommended Levafas Diamond really helped stock, bitch to administer but have used ever since.
I buy in stores in early March dose in mid April then again late June and again in late August early September sell in early December.
Read spread sheet Re when to use and how often.

Do not use Closmectin. Bought in stock are treated for fluke and worms on arrival. At present I generally use Animec or Bimection super and will repeat at housing. I will use Trodax or an oral dose 6-10 weeks post housing to give total fluke kill.

After turnout I will treat cattle in late April/early May for worms with a generic Ivermectin. I will use a pour on for cattle finishing in June and inject cattle for later finish. I will treat again for hoose in early August.

This is an absolute pointless post to the ops question.

But just to say that there will be a time when Irish farmers will be putting the dosing and parasite companies under severe financial pressure to survive due to a big reduction in sales in the future.

    There I've had my say.
    That is all.:)

From my memory of KT answers, most people seem to leave it about 6 weeks.

Ignoring the 'closa' part of the dose the other ingredient is ivomec/ivermectin. The original instructions from the manufacturers were to inject at 3,8,13 weeks out. Where calves (dairy) were set-stocked this should have been sufficient for the entire season as by preventing a build up of worms in the grass with the continual protection there would be no infection present for the latter part of the season.

So six weeks might be pushing it a little, compared to five, but it seems to be working.

I do wonder if you need to use the 'closa' early in the grazing season? It would depend on your location.

It would appear it was intended to be pushed in the KT programme.

Thanks for feedback spring born calves grazing since around June July. Done with endospec drench as per instructions 12 august. Nothing prior to that. I then bought closamectin pour on for handiness and in told.it covers broad spectrum. Question is. And o don't see this on box is how long do you leave between worm does in general?
