How were they transported, by lorry or smaller vehicle, usually 25 to 30 a head to the north. The male would have to be brucella tested and the females would only have to be mv accredited flock.

Did you have to notify the dept about them?

As far as I know the UK breeder contacts the Irish Dept of Ag and downloads the necessary documentation . The documentation is very detailed and The sheep must be blood tested. I was looking into importing a ram. The breeders local vet has asked him £140 for blood tests and paper work. Some breeders are not charging extra for rams coming South so obviously their vets are not as greedy. Are any of you guys based in the North ?

I got a ram from Scotland last week and he arrived with all documents. I had to send one part to local dvo and that is only contact with department

It il probably raise a red flag for an inspection though

. Was transport arranged by the breeder and was it by a specialist sheep haulier?

I sold 5 on ewes to a guy in Leitrim last year. Cost £300 for vet call out to read ear tags, prepare paperwork and send blood samples to the lab in England for MV and scrapie. I bled them and gave them the samples so they didn't even have to do that. If I was registered as an MV accredited flock it would only have cost about £20 head instead. There's triplicate movement docs but they're easy enough to fill in, just downloaded them from Daera website.
